Samsung BD-P1600 region code

1) Press the POWER button on the remote to turn on the
machine (no disc in the tray).

2) Wait till the player has booted up and the Samsung logo
screen is displayed.

3) Press the OPEN/CLOSE button on the remote twice, to open
then close the disc tray.

4) As soon as you see "No-Disc" displayed in the top left
corner, press the REPEAT button followed by the 5 digit code
for your current region as listed below.

(Mine was 57538 for region 2)

Don't press the REPEAT button for too long, just smoothly
press REPEAT 5 7 5 3 8.

If it doesn't work straight away, keep trying, mine worked
on the first go.

5) If you're successful, your current region code will be
displayed in the top left corner of the screen.

6) Press '9' to make your player region free.

7) Turn the player off, then on again and test with a
different region disc, or if you don't have one to test
with, just repeat the hack and instead of your old region
code appearing in the top left corner of your screen, you
should see '9' if you've been successful.

The hack can be repeated to turn your machine back to it's
original settings or to a particular region if the disc is
sensative to region free machines.

1. Go to this site: http://members.tripod.com/aiwaownersnetwork/pages/lg/5000_series_firmware.html and download the zip file
2. Unpack the zip and burn the file onto a CD
3. Load the CD into the player and select region 0
4. Switch off and back on
5. If "check region code" is still displayed, using your remote, press disply, disc menu, play in that sequence quickly

1. Using the open button on the machine, open the disc tray. Make sure it's empty.
   Make sure you can see the dvd on your TV screen
2. Press MENU on remote (not top menu), you should see the on screen pictoral graphics on your TV screen
3. Using the remote, press 1, 6, 7
4. On the screen you should see over the top of the graphics "region 1-6" (I have not tried, but you might be able to set one region by pressing remote number from 1 to 6)
5. Press MUTE button and next to "region 1-6" you should see "all"
6. Then use the remotes POWER OFF button and the dvd should close the (empty) tray
7. Restart the unit, put in a region disc and it should play it

Akai ADR-5800Di

1. Insert any disc
2. Press CLEAR, 2, 5, 8, CLEAR
3. The service menu will then come up.
4. Enter the region you want (0 = multi-region)

4. Boot up your PC from the floppy disk and run winsamp.exe
   If your IRDA port doesn't appear as COM2 you may override this by using an appropriate command line switch. For example, use COM1 by running 'winsamp C1'
5. Press the 'r' key to load up the codes into winsamp
6. Make sure your DVD player is in standby mode and your IRDA port is within range
7. Run the IR codes from 1 to 5 by pressing Enter on each corresponding button
8. Your DVD player should start up and display the text "SUCCESS"
9. Repeat step 7. Your player should return to standby mode.
   Your player is now multi-region.
